A hand-crafted, laser-cut frame of walnut and acrylic encloses a playing card from a deck owned by the man himself.
To the right of the card sits a Limited Issue One Ounce Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Silver Proof from the United States Mint, along with a replica signature rendered in gold foil.

A laser-cut acrylic frame securely holds the card and protects it from damage. A facsimile signature and other details are embellished with gold foil.

These cards were purchased at auction from the Armstrong Family Collection in 2018.
One deck depicts the Lunar Module, just feet away from the lunar surface. The second deck depicts the Lunar Module in a line of Ryan Aeronautical’s contributions to aircraft and spacecraft of the 20th century. The outer box was opened, with the cellophane still mostly intact. The decks themselves were still sealed in the original wrapping, and in pristine condition.

The Original

The original plaque, owned by Neil Armstrong, features a manufacturer ID plate that was carried to the lunar surface on board Apollo 11 LM Eagle. This amazing piece sold at auction in 2018 for an incredible $485,000.

The replica

AstronArts brings you the Apollo 11 ID Plaque, in a much more affordable version. The LM art and ID plate are replicas of the real article, engraved in durable metallic acrylic and mounted to a handsome woodgrain plaque.

THE DETAILS

The details of the plaque are taken directly from the original. The art was recreated for the manufacturing process, and the details of the original LM and ID plate were closely analyzed to ensure an accurate recreation.

X-15 Instrument Panel

A 1/2 scale replica of the main instrument panel from X-15-3, the final version of the legendary rocket plane. This was the Mach 6.7 plane that flew to the edge of space, starting in 1959. The X-15 carried 3 men beyond the edge of space, earning them astronaut wings and making them among the first Americans in space. The X-15-3 was the last of the type, and was unfortunately lost, along with her pilot Maj. Michael J. Adams, in 1967.

This is a highly detailed replica of the front office of the coolest (and fastest) airplane ever.

This is a work in progress, but it’s worth sharing. It is a 1/2 scale replica of the Lunar Module primary instrument panels. There are a ton of small parts, and everything is fabricated from scratch. It’s my favorite thing ever. More to come…
